Description
Optigon is seeking a mechanical engineering intern to support Optigon's ongoing product development efforts.

Overview
You'll have the opportunity to help lead the design, manufacturing, and testing of Optigon's next generation measurement tools. Applicants interested in product design, precision mechanical systems, or optomechanics are encouraged to apply.

Responsibilities
- Collaborate with engineering team to design new products using CAD software
- Create 3D models and 2D drawings of parts and assemblies (SolidWorks)
- Participate in design reviews to provide feedback and suggest improvements
- Assist in the fabrication and assembly of prototypes
- Conduct testing and analysis of prototypes to evaluate performance and identify areas for improvement
- Assist in the development of manufacturing processes and procedures
- Document designs, test results, and other relevant information 

Qualifications
- Currently pursuing a degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field
- Familiarity with CAD software (SolidWorks preferred)
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work independently and take on ownership of a project
- Excellent communication and willingness to work on a team
- Prior experience with 3D printing, machining, or other fabrication methods is a plus
